About Rauland
Rauland has a rich and varied range of activities for everyone - whether you want to explore hiking trails and beautiful high mountain scenery or go for more fast-paced experiences.
With its central location between south, east and west, you have many attractions within easy reach, in addition to everything you can see and experience in the Rauland and Rjukan area.
For example, start the day with a cross-country trip in Silkedalen, take the car to Rjukan and treat yourself to some pampering in Rjukanbadet and perhaps a snack at Vierli Kafeteria before rounding off the day with a log fire and a film or book in the cabin.
In the summer, you might want to explore more of the area - visit the museums, take the children to Selstali Seter or Barnas Seter, enjoy the beach life at Fagersand, play a round of mini golf Vierli or take the Gaustabanen to the top of Telemark's roof. Visit Vierlitop or Falkeriset and take in the majestic view out towards Hardangervidda, or retreat, find peace and quiet by the banks of Totak - or in the cabin.

Summer in Rauland
In the summer months, you can walking, fishing, cycling, swimming and horse riding. You can visit the peaks or take a canoe trip.
With us, the whole family can be active together. On Vierli you will find our largest summer location with activities such as Frisbee golf course, mini golf, Children's Seats, large playground, boat and canoe hire, fishing lake and cafeteria much more!
The road is also short to the other attractions in Fjell-Telemark such as Krossobanen, Vemork or Gaustatoppen. See our interactive map for an overview of the area.
- Visit Falkeriset, a family-friendly tour on paths paved by Sherpas from Nepal
- Treat yourself to one high mountain cruise on Møsvatn with "MF Fjellvåken"

Winter activities in Rauland
Rauland is one of Telemark's largest ski destinations and offers varied opportunities for skiing and snowboarding regardless of skill level. Combined with 150 kilometers of cross-country trails, this sets the stage for a perfect skiing holiday.

- Ski school both for beginners and advanced learners who want to learn more
- Own ski bus which runs between the ski resorts and the city centre
- Three children's areas (Vierli, Tiur og Holtardalen) with figures and ball tracks. Automatic timing course on Tiur. Ski ties in Holtardalen, perfect for the little ones. - Snowmobile safari in wonderful trails at the foot of Hardangervidda. The trips can last from a few hours to several days. You can also rent snowmobiles from Rauland Snowscooter rental, Snowmobile Camp Rauland and Rauland Service Center!
- Activities for the little ones. Let them try mini scooters or toboggan trains Vierli
- Night Ski pi hotelbakken (by Rauland Høgfjellshotell) every Tuesday and Friday throughout the season.
- Ice fishing! Totak and Møsvatn are popular waters for ice fishing. Fishing licenses can be purchased at inatur.no (marked on the map which areas apply)
- Dog sledding with Mosstrond Husky, Telemark Husky Tour og Haukeli Husky
- Kiting! Rauland is a dream destination for kiters with its magnificent scenery, wide expanses and perfect snow conditions. Powerkite runs courses throughout the season.
- Off-piste driving at Rauland Skisenter, here there are both forest trails and several trails for powder skiing
- Biathlon on our own biathlon arena below Rauland school in the city centre
- Use the pool and sauna at Rauland Høgfjellshotell, this is open to everyone
- Raulandsbadet in the center has a 10x12 meter swimming pool with diving blocks, jacuzzi, sauna, massage pool and toddler pool.
