History

The story of Vierli

It all started over 40 years ago, with a goatherd and Kristin's grandmother Såve.

Såve lived on a farm in Rauland with her husband Bjarne, and in the summer they spent a lot of time with their goats on a goat shed up on Vierli. It was here that the idea of ​​a kiosk along the national highway was born. The kiosk which in 1969 became the cafe as we know it today and which she later expanded with a ski lift.

Eventually it was time to carry on with the work. After many years at sea and a few years at Rafnes, it was Kristin's father Erlend, the youngest in a group of three siblings, who together with his childhood sweetheart Anne Grete (originally from Rauland) returned home to take over the family business.
