Berry and mushroom picking

At the end of August and in September, you can harvest what nature has to offer in terms of mushrooms and berries.

In Rauland and the surrounding area, there are lingonberries, blueberries, morels and several types of mushrooms. Take a trip out into the forest or up into the mountains and pick your way!

You can often find molter in marshy areas, while blueberries and lingonberries are often found in felled fields, where the heather thrives well.

If you are going to pick mushrooms, it is a good idea to bring a mushroom book, so that you do not pick mushrooms that are dangerous to eat.

For the mullet lovers

Are you going out to pick molts? here you can find them:

The marsh areas in Rauland and Øyfjell contain buckets of tasty, juicy and golden mullets ready for picking from the beginning of August.

In Øyfjell, 15-20 minutes south of Rauland, the berry can be found in marshy areas along and by Lognvikvatn. In Rauland there is a large, nice area at Kromviki and around/by Falkeriset. Drive towards Raulandsfjell and turn off towards Kromviki in the direction Falkeriset you will find nice mullet areas on both sides of the road.
