Nothing is better than lazy days on a beach with cloudless skies! After a visit here, there is no doubt why the beach has been given this fine name.
Fagersand is our new activity offer. In collaboration with benevolent landowners, Rauland Hyttevelforening and the business community in Rauland, Rauland Turist has started a new and extensive project. We have made better arrangements so that everyone can use the wonderful beach Fagersand at Lognvikvatnet.
The area is over 50 acres, so there is room for everyone. Even though the area has been treated like this for thousands of years, it's nice to have a bit of an upgrade!
Drive down at Camp Vierli Hotell i Austbø and follow the signs. Then you will come to a new and prepared car park. Here you park and walk a few hundred meters until you reach the beautiful sandy beach.
Parking costs NOK. NOK 50 per day. This fee goes towards maintenance of the area. All use of the site is free. We do not want overnight stays in tents etc. in the area.
They must take all waste, barbecues and dog bags home with them! We encourage everyone to do their part to ensure that the area is taken care of and treated well. This will be our cozy and quiet recreation area for both children and adults.
In addition to upgrading the road and creating a car park, we have started by building some practical wooden bridges / wooden bridges over the wet marshes. This work will continue next summer.
Here, everyone must walk in dry shoes until they dip their toes into the bathing water. We have cleared the undergrowth and forest. The area is now bright and nice. This work will also continue next summer.
All work is done on a voluntary basis! Cottagers and permanent residents have cleaned up and made it look good Fagersand. We hope that many people will want to help out at the cozy charity work next year as well. We have plans for both boats and jetties in the near future!
