This year's Christmas film on Netflix was filmed at Rauland

A colorful and heartwarming Norwegian Christmas film premiered on the streaming giant on 6 December 2023.

The film has already made a big success on Netflix with over 10 million plays and ranks as No. 1 in Norway and among the top 10 in the world!

The film is about Thea (Ida Ursin-Holm), who travels to her home village to celebrate a traditional Norwegian Christmas with her family. But this year she brings Jashan, her Indian boyfriend (Kanan Gill). What was supposed to be an ordinary Christmas soon develops into a turbulent and heartwarming celebration, which turns traditions upside down and forces the family to find Christmas joy anew.

Besides Ida Ursin-Holm and Kanan Gill, there are also stars such as Marit Adeleide Andreassen and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen in the supporting roles. Marit plays mother-in-law Anne-Lise, while Mads takes on the role of Thea's ex-boyfriend.

One has also been made brand new Christmas song for the film by Emma Steinbakken (Spotify). We are betting that this will be the Christmas carol of the year in Norway. Feel free to spread it further!
