Village cinema on Raulandsakademiet 23.10.26
A family has received a mysterious package on their doorstep every Christmas for 22 years. Sender? Unknown. The Norwegian family film Mysteriepakken opened the Children's Film Festival in Kristiansand 2026 and was received brilliantly by the audience. The film had its world premiere at the Thessaloniki Film Festival and will be released in cinemas nationwide on October 16.
The story behind the film is as enigmatic as it is true. Director Silje Evensmo Jacobsen's film is based on a real and locally rooted mystery. Every year, two siblings and their family receive an anonymous package sent from Arendal. The sender is unknown, and the wonder grows as the years go by. When the children decide to find out who is behind it, it develops into an engaging and touching story about family, belonging and the importance of small actions that leave a mark.
After 40 years as a loyal stay-at-home wife, Annema is fired – in favor of a younger model. Together with career woman Nina, who is reaching the end of her working life, and rebel Mona, the trio decide to retire from lawlessness. They plan an impossible coup: to rob the Oil Fund itself. A wild comedy about a most unexpected early retirement.
