Rauland Historielag has been involved in the petroglyphs at Sporanes for the past few years. The logo of the history team is one of the figures on the petroglyph field. Many letters have been sent and many phone calls taken, in the hope that something would be done to better take care of the unique figures from a field that should be quite unique.
In the book you will find pictures of the rock carvings, interpretation of the figures and history. Many are the professionals who have been here and examined the marked figures. In 2012, Rauland Historielag, in collaboration with others, organized a seminar on the rock carvings to summarize what has been done, and to better plan what should happen to the area in order to take care of it.
The book is equipped with many fine photographs in addition to the overview of the investigations of the rock carvings.
It is Åsta Østmoe Kostveit, long-time leader of the Rauland Historielag, who has written the book.
