In the middle of the construction site Krontveit on Rauland lie the ruins of the homestead Rinde. Together with Local History Archive - Vinje, Rauland School, Krontveit Vel and the cultural office in Vinje, the Rauland history team is working on a project that will give both the local population and tourists more knowledge about history.

The Rinde homestead was under the farm Krontveit. In addition to tufts from the more recent homestead, there are archaeological finds from the Iron Age in the area. Both graves and farm buildings have been found, with traces of tufts, clearing piles, fences and reindeer herders, dated to around 320 - 440 AD.

The aim of the project is to create organized hiking trails with information about the area, and a playground or place to stay. The target group is both local residents and tourists. 8th grade at Rauland school are important players in the project work and an important goal is for the students to get to know their local history through local forces and sources. Through familiarity with digital sources, the history team hopes that they will both gain an interest in their history, and understand why it is important to know it.
