Rauland History Club 40 years!

Saturday, January 2nd, we celebrated 40 years of Raulandsakademiet, along with a total of 90 guests who wanted to join us in celebrating.

It was a nice celebration with a tapas menu from Raulandsakademiet, kling and marzipan cake (sponsored by Spar Rauland) and of course røur.

Guests enjoy a celebratory dinner in an elegant restaurant, with candlelight and nicely decorated tables.

The evening had a packed program, with a sing-along of the Raulandssongen, reminiscences from the years gone by, lectures by Birger Kjelingtveit and Åsta Kostveit, musical performances by Lars Erik Øygarden and a snack with songs by Øystein Haugan. We also received greetings and flowers from Mayor Kleven, the Rjukan Historical Society and the Tokke Historical Society.

At the anniversary celebration, four honorary members were also appointed: Birger Kjelingtveit, Tone Liv Kjelingtveit, Solveig Loftsgarden and Åsta Kostveit. All four have been very active for many years as leaders, deputy leaders, treasurers and otherwise active members. They greatly appreciated the attention and we greatly appreciate the effort they have put into the team!
