On a trip to the Defense Museum in Vinje
On 22 October, a group of members from the Rauland Historielag and Frøydis from the Local History Archive were at the Defense Museum in Vinje.
Signe Gardsteig from the museum's team of friends showed around and told vividly about the battle that took place in the municipality, what happened in the municipality, the different effects after both German and Norwegian soldiers, everyday life and our local history during the Second World War. During the tour, the people who lived and fought in this period came alive, so that we, almost 80 years later, can identify with them.
The history team would like to thank Signe Gardsteig for an excellent tour, and can safely recommend a trip to others who have not yet familiarized themselves with this small but incredibly rich museum.
