The 2019 Annual Report contains five articles:

  • The German Brigade
  • Operating traffic on the Hardangervidda plateau
  • About the artist Miling Svalastog
  • About Helga Landsverk
  • About the households in Åmyri.

Shortly after the last world war, the victors formed a brigade that was to ensure order and peace in occupied Germany. Norway provided soldiers here from 1947 to 1953. The next topic is about the traffic on the Hardangervidda plateau. Here we are talking about livestock that grazed on the plateau. These animals often came from central and eastern Telemark, but some as far down as lower Telemark. These animals were driven up the mountain by deer. The weaving artist Miling Svalastog created beautiful picture motifs on her weaving looms. These hang in many homes around the country. In the summer of 1948 there was a rural art exhibition in Rauland. Helga Landsverk wanted to see this. Helga wrote a story about this when she was at secondary school in 1948. Finally, there is a short story about the town of Åmyri in Rauland. A plain down towards Totak by the river Bitu. Here was located Hardingplassen, which was in operation as a marketplace from about 1855 until 1897.
