Sunday 25 November at In 1400 there was a "box lip" in Årestoga Raulandsakademiet of the annual report for Rauland history team 2018.

The yearbook is compiled from various articles that cover a wide range of topics. There is no planned "red thread". You can read about early cottage tourism in Rauland, care of the old and sick in the village, the village chief Aslak K. Svalastoga, the stable at Møsstrond from the middle of the 1800th century onwards, man-made stone collections around Songa and about changing owners and operators of Rauland høgfjellshotell.

The idea of an article about cottage life back to the 1940s was a new twist. The cabin people are also part of the village and many have heard of it for several decades. Kirsti Camerer has written about childhood and youth memories from the cabin Teleroi, which is located near Oksatjønn. In the 40s, there were very few cabins in the vicinity. Kirsti came back to Rauland in 1977 and has lived here later.

Gunn Gardsjord has written about the health team and health care in Rauland for 100 years. Rauland got its first health club in 1917, then under the name Rauland sjukerøktlag. Gudrun Ofte was the first permanent nurse in Rauland. Rauland hospital has a central place in the local community. The entire article concludes with a mention of Jon Guldal, who was appointed district doctor in Rauland in 1958.

Asbjørn Gardsjord and Alf Seltveit have written about Aslak K. Svalastoga, a force in politics and culture. Aslak ruled Rauland in the post-war years until 1960. He was mayor and rural developer. Aslak was a teacher and schoolmaster, and an artist in several genres. As the authors write: He wanted a lot from life.

At a themed evening in the Rauland history club this winter, historian Pål Georg Thorrud from Rjukan told about Møsstrond in the 1800th century. Thorrud draws a couple of lines in Møsstrond's history. The first is linked to the changes between the parishes which led to Møsstrond becoming its own parish in the new Rauland parish/herad. The second line deals with the development in the population.

Johan Vaa has written two articles. In the one article, he tells about various cultural monuments in the Song regions that have some special history attached to them, or which are little known.

The other one is about the pioneering period with the construction and operation of Rauland Høgfjellshotell. Eight Raulanders skippered the lute team Rauland hotellag in 1947. The "Lødøentida" of course has its own mention, as have other owners and operators until today.

The annual is on sale in Rauland at Rauland Handelshus, Rauland Service Center and COOP Prix. Otherwise, the book is down at Vinjebui in Åmot, the bookshops in Kviteseid, Seljord and Bø.
