In 2025, it will be 200 years since the first organized emigration from Norway to the American continent. In 1825, Restoration sailed from Stavanger to New York with 25 Norwegian emigrants. In the following years, many Norwegians followed, also from the Rauland area.

In the anniversary year, Rauland Historielag will focus on this part of local history. Together with Slekt and Data Vinje, we will have themed evenings and other events around the theme throughout the anniversary year. We started work on a themed evening on emigration with Dag Rogremoen in November 2024, and will start in 2025 with family research evening on January 7.
