Major investments in Rauland Skisenter before another winter!

Published: 30.08.2026 20:08

A new winter season is upon us and it is finally time to think about winter, snow and skiing. After a strong operating year with good results, visitor numbers and an incredibly good group of employees who are doing their utmost, we can now announce a number of exciting news and improvements before the upcoming season. Our goal is to offer a better overall experience for our guests.

Tiurstoga gets a complete makeover before the winter season

Tiurstoga has long been a natural gathering point in Rauland Skisenter and has hosted thousands of customers over many decades, and will receive the following upgrade:

  • Brand new kitchen
  • New "look", with new furniture, flooring, paneling and decor
  • New toilet
  • New menu

We want that Tiurstoga will be a warm and pleasant gathering place for our ski guests, but with a modern touch that suits our identity. With this upgrade we will get better facilities, a fresher look and a catering offer that we look forward to presenting to you.

There will also be improvements on the terrace outside. Here we are building a smaller stage so that we can arrange for live music and pleasant afternoon après-ski throughout the winter.

We are also upgrading parts of the outdoor areas where there will be the opportunity to eat brought-in food in your own "nest" and there will be barbecue facilities.

Vierli Kafeteria

To be upgraded in the spring of 2027. Detailed planning is underway here, mainly we will be laying new flooring, new furniture, upgrading service points/counters, and an upgraded outdoor area. We look forward to presenting more details as time goes on.

As with every winter season, we are renewing something on the menu, and a full event program is just around the corner.

Holtarstua

We are working in parallel with the design and planning of a new service building in HoltardalenThe service building is planned to bring together Holtarstua, Loftet ski rental and the pavilion in one building. This will be a major boost for Rauland Skisenter, and we will present plans and more information about this next year.

Further development and investment in the snowmaking system

Over the past 10 years, we have invested well over NOK 20 million in snowmaking facilities. Many of our guests book their holidays well in advance, and we know that snow conditions are crucial. The goal is to ensure as many slopes as possible are open for Christmas and create a predictable experience for our ski guests throughout the season. We will continue to invest this season and upgrade with more fully automatic snow cannons. We are also extending the pipelines in the bottom area. Tiur to simplify production conditions.

Event and Easter

There will be a long series of large and small events throughout the season. The mascot Bruse will be there this winter as well, with several events and activities such as Bruse's treasure hunt for the little ones. The children's area at Tiur will also be upgraded with new figures. There will also be large concerts and Easter tents. The first artist names will be announced during September.

The upgrades and investments are part of Rauland Skisenters work to further develop the overall offering and create good experiences – both on the slopes and during breaks.

We look forward to welcoming you back to a new, fantastic winter in Rauland!
