Norway's largest snow castle Vierli

Welcome to Norway's largest and coolest snow castle at Vierli! A huge pile of snow has been produced, and ShapeCrew has designed the snow castle – which is now open for play and fun ahead!

It is the fifth year that the magical snow castle has been built Vierli, and it has become a very popular attraction to visit.

Last season, the castle was over 20 × 15 meters and almost 5 meters high, with slides, tunnels and exciting snow shaping that thrilled both residents and visitors.

This year's snow castle is no less: The snow castle covers over 620 square meters and is built from around 2750 cubic meters of snow. There are a total of three slides, and a quarter pipe to slide and climb on.

Vierli Snøborg has become a regular winter attraction for families with children and winter lovers in Rauland. Here, both young and old can play, sled and explore in an imaginative snow structure that invites to adventures under the open sky. Vierli-area is located directly below Vierli Kafeteria.

Facts about the snow castle
  • The tallest tower measures 6,5 m from the ground.
  • 2 main toboggan slides at different heights and 1 tunnel slide.
  • 1 simple entrance, 1 climbing entrance, 1 tunnel entrance and 6 different climbing routes throughout the castle.
  • Over 620 square meters with 2750 cubic meters of snow.
  • 500 square meters of castle area (completely built)
  • The castle was built by Shapecrew, and it took them 10 days (6-8 people) to create the artwork. They used an excavator, a treadle machine, shovels and a chainsaw to create the castle.
  • The castle is lit so that play can continue even after dark.

Rules for using the castle

  • The castle is open to everyone, but children must always be supervised by adults.
  • All use at your own risk.
  • It is not permitted to climb the towers or the wall, i.e. outside the castle.
  • Be considerate of each other. Wait your turn.
