Published: 21.01.2026 09:01

Now you can hike on foot or with snowshoes on a paved and prepared trail around Uvatn, starting and ending at Vierli.

This is simply a trail for those who don't want to ski, but still want to go out for a walk. We hope that with this initiative, more people will get out into the fantastic nature we have in Rauland.

Where does the trail start?

  • By Vierli saunas. Follow the beaten track from Vierli Kafeteria, past Gapahuken and Vierli Snow castle.
  • The trail starts at the bottom of the saunas and is marked with signs.

The trail is at its hardest and holds up best on days with freezing temperatures (preferably from -4 and below).

When will the trail be groomed?

  • Every weekend as needed (Saturday + Sunday morning after any snowfall).
  • Weekdays: Thursday mornings if needed.
  • On days with little cold, snowshoes are the best.
