Rauland Skisenter and Vinje municipality invite you to an inspiring lecture with Rune Hana and Cecilie Nesheim at Vierli Kafeteria Tuesday, April 15 at 18.00:XNUMX PM.
In April 2024, Cecilie and Rune embarked on their biggest expedition to date – to the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest. They had more than just climbing equipment with them: Rune has asthma, and Cecilie has type 1 diabetes. Nevertheless, they have previously climbed peaks such as Denali (6190 m) and Manaslu (8163 m), and are among the few Norwegians – along with Kristin Harila – who have reached the real summit of Manaslu.
In the talk, they share honestly and openly about their journey to Everest: about risk assessments, tough choices, human encounters, and how they handled chronic illnesses in an extreme environment. Rune reached the summit on May 22, 2024, while Cecilie had to make the brave choice to turn back at 8100 m due to unforeseen obstacles.
Welcome to a strong and educational evening about courage, mastery and how far you can go – even with a little extra in your bag!
