Rauland in Telemark is almost alone in Norway in offering recreational driving with snowmobiles on its own prepared trails.
Snowmobile safaris/guided tours are arranged, and it is possible to go completely on your own - several operators offer snowmobile hire with a day permit. If you have your own snowmobile, you can also buy a day permit directly from Vinje Municipality.
