Invitation to a trail work in Rauland
We are some cabin owners who have taken an initiative towards Vinje municipality and Visit Rauland to achieve better marking and organization of all the beautiful summer trails in the area.
Many trails have old markings, lack "knobs" over marshy areas and safe passages over streams. In addition, they have not been included on the DNT map via UT.
Our initiative is based on the idea that those of us who have a cabin in Rauland and who use nature both winter and summer, might consider contributing to some volunteer work to raise the standard of the summer trails. The trail network consists of many trails and we have therefore made a prioritization so that the task does not become too extensive.
The initiative has led to the start of a collaboration with, among others, Rauland Hyttevelforening, Sports team Dyre Vaa, Rauland History team, Vinje Hiking team, Rauland Tourist and Vierli / Rauland SkisenterInitially, we will establish the collaboration as a project and call it the "Rauland Trail and Volunteer Team".
As a start, we are planning a volunteer work at Oksatjønn and Hotellthe trail the weekend of June 27th–28th, and we hope as many people as possible will want to join us.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to something that benefits us all – better and more clearly marked hiking trails in our area. The work will be varied and manageable, including clearing, removing bushes, some clearing and marking trails. Materials for clearing have already been shipped out, so there is plenty of room for a pleasant and efficient volunteer effort. Join us for a social and useful day out.
At the volunteering event you will also have the opportunity to meet some new faces. Food and drinks will be served after the day's volunteering is completed. Register as soon as possible and no later than June 19th to: post@rhvf.no
We will send more information as time goes on about attendance, equipment you need to bring, etc. Please send your answers or any questions to post@rhvf.no.
See you!
Sincerely,
Rauland trail and volunteer team
