A development as large as we have seen in Rauland naturally entails major consequences. It is to be hoped that the overall consequences are positive.
The increasing use of nature is largely channeled through marked paths and tracks. Renovation is well taken care of, and all new and many older cabins are connected to the municipal water and sewage system.
Vinje municipality is larger than Vestfold county in terms of area. There is therefore plenty of room for everyone.
Benefits for many
There is no doubt that the large development has brought benefits to many. Developers and landowners have been able to utilize their areas. The trade industry has a basis for operation that far exceeds what would have been possible only with the permanent residents.
Vinje municipality has received significant tax income and other income directly and indirectly through employees etc.
In practice, Vinje municipality has negligible unemployment, and an increased demand for activities and offers also gives permanent residents many benefits related to ski slopes, trade and other things.

Existing cabin owners have had a formidable price increase on their properties, and new cabin owners come to a Rauland with all facilities.
Little disagreement
There is little disagreement in the municipality today that the tourism industry and industry linked to the development and operation of holiday homes is by far the most important element in the municipality's overall economy.
