New for the 2026 season is that Fjellvåken will stop by Hovdenøya, where Møsstrond tourist cabin offers simple accommodation and a cafe on the weekends. Fjellvåken can stop by Hovdenøya on the first trip into Mogen and the last trip back out to Skinnarbu.

NOTE: For Fjellvåken to stop at Hovden, tickets must be ordered online in advance.

A collaboration with the National Park Center means that passengers on Fjellvåken get a 20% discount on the entrance ticket to the National Park Center, which this year is launching a VR experience where you are inside Hardangervidda, in the middle of the reindeer herd!

The trip from Liseth to Mogen is 3 km, a nice walk along the road, bicycles are available for those who wish. Lunch at Mogen is served at 12:00.

Join a historic route that has led generations of hikers, cabin dwellers and permanent residents in and out of a unique roadless community. Fjellvåken, in several versions, has faithfully run its route on Møsvatn for over 130 years. The catamaran, which is Fjellvåken, cascades the 4 miles past mountain farms in a fantastic landscape.

The waterway is the main road for those who live permanently along Møsvatn. The ice formation and melting make permanent residents isolated for some weeks in spring and autumn. Møsvatn at 918 MOH is thus a unique experience that you will never forget. Mountain watchers from Skinnarbu, there are parking options. The boat runs through Hovdenøye (if tickets are booked).

From the lake you can see the beautiful Møsstrond church, rebuilt in 1923 after it burned down in 1919 from a lightning strike. On Hovden is Møsstrond Turisthytte. Here you can relax and enjoy the silence in true high mountain nature. The cabin offers comfortable rooms for overnight stays and great experiences close to nature. You can rent a canoe, explore the lake, take a refreshing swim or try your luck at fishing!

On weekends there is a café with something good to eat, while the cabin is otherwise self-service. At the tourist cabin there is a simple self-service shop, with the most important groceries for those staying overnight or on a trip.

Fjellvåken continues inland along Møsvatn towards Mogen. The boat lands and stays at Liset. Long enough to have plenty of time to enjoy a good lunch at Mogen tourist cabin, walk the Kvennavegen or take a walk along the Kvenna River to see Argefoss, which is actually the start of the industrial adventure.

Mogen Turisthytte is a serviced DNT cabin, offering comfortable accommodation in a renovated tourist cabin as well as a dining experience. Book a Høgfjellscruse with Fjellvåken, this includes round trip tickets with Fjellvåken and a delicious lunch at Mogen tourist cabin.
