The Hardangervidda National Park Center is located at Skinnarbu, along county road 37 between Rjukan and Rauland, close to Møsvatn. Here you will find a interactive, award-winning exhibition -600 m² with 22 interactive installations, mini cinema, objects from wild reindeer bones (17 years old), all in Norwegian and English – and internationally awarded. Outdoor nature trail (2,5 km) with audio guide in 10 languages, library and learning room etc.
In Rjukan, just a short drive away, is Vemork, Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum and the World Heritage Center. Here you will find the iconic power station, the heavy water cellar, the engine room and historical surroundings – In the heavy water cellar you can follow the drama of the sabotage operation that was carried out on the night of February 28, 1943 through interactive exhibitions and film rooms.
Together with Notodden, Rjukan is on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the Rjukan–Notodden industrial heritage.
