Drawing course for freshmen - Ruth K Dalen

Even though I have only just started the last summer month, at least I know that autumn is "lurking in the bushes". And when you have children at school, it's like autumn when the start of school is a fact. With the thought of the start of school in the back of my mind, it is also time to get started with cozy indoor activities, and since there have been some questions about pure drawing courses, I have therefore set up an offer for such a course starting Thursday 12 September at 18.00 and celebrate the following Thursdays throughout the autumn at the same time. The last course evening will be Thursday 14 November. The venue is the media library at Øyfjell school in Vinje.

This course starts entirely at "scratch" and is therefore a beginner's course. Here we will go through different topics such as perspective, proportions and light and shadow. The starting point for the teaching is the scheme in the book "to draw is to see" by Betty Edwards, something that has been incredibly interesting and useful for my own journey towards becoming a good draftsman and painter. Here we will prove that everyone can! And we have 10 course evenings to practice.

It is important to mention that it is not designed for smaller children. You should be mature enough to tolerate a little teaching and be prepared to do the tasks you are given. Otherwise no age limit.

You can find more information about course content and prices by going to ruthkvaalodalen.no or contact me at: [email protected] / 90597872

On this course, I have set a lower participant limit of 7 to start the course. Max 12 pcs.

Registration deadline 3 September!

Remember to let us know as early as you can - it helps me change my plans in case there aren't enough people. (It is, of course, permissible to ask for available places after the deadline)
I hope to see YOU on the course!

A warm welcome
